The 55th match of IPL 2025 was to be played between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Delhi Capitals on 5 May at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. Cricket lovers had high hopes from this match, but unfortunately rain spoiled the entire match and the match was cancelled without any result. This gave both the teams one point each, but it affected Sunrisers Hyderabad’s playoff hopes the most.

Thanks to these two, the Delhi team scored 133 runs in 20 overs.

Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Pat Cummins bowled brilliantly. He took 3 important wickets for only 19 runs in his 4 overs. He shook Delhi’s top order and at one time Delhi team could not even score 100 runs. But Stubbs and Ashutosh’s partnership took over the team.
Rain took away the thrill
As soon as Delhi’s innings ended, dark clouds covered the sky and it started raining shortly. The umpires waited for a long time, but the weather did not cooperate. In the end the match was declared cancelled and both the teams were given one point each.

After this match, Delhi Capitals now have 12 points and they are still in the playoff race. Sunrisers Hyderabad, on the other hand, have 11 points and now have no way to make it to the playoffs. It wasn’t the defeat but the cancellation that was disappointing for SRH.
